Prolotherapy is a regenerative injection treatment intended to repair ligaments in injured joints and connective tissue. It is used to treat conditions such as arthritis or whiplash. The injection contains substances such as dextrose or saline as well as a numbing agent. When injected, the body initiates a healing response which promotes tendon and ligament health, as well as growth of tendon and ligament fibers. This treatment is meant to reduce pain and stiffness in the joints, as well as improve mobility and strength.
